Our Hemp Fleece is a stretch knit fabric made from 55% Hemp and 45% SKAL Certified Organic Cotton. The fabric is manufactured at 340gsm and measures approx 140cm across when cut. It has a soft fleecy surface on one side and a smooth interlock surface on the other. More info below.

Hemp Fleece is actually made from French Terry, so their absorbency is nearly identical. The looped side of French Terry is just brushed to make a fleecy surface similar to the inside of tracksuit material.

Although it's quite a heavy fabric, its weight doesn't mean it's bulky. Hemp makes wonderfully trim nappies with superior absorbency to cotton nappies, and has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties to boot.

1m of Hemp Fleece will be enough to make at least 2 complete fitted nappies but don't let your imagination stop there. It's also a beautful fabric for tracksuits, pj's, mama pads, boosters, bunny rugs and just about anything else you could use a fleecy fabric for.
SKAL Certificate number C004294EU-06,2004.

Hot tip: Hemp increases in absorbency over the first few washes, and most people find it reaches maximum absorbency after around 6-7 washes. It requires prewashing and you should wash and dry it the same way you will wash and dry it when it's a finished garment.
